Joe doesn’t socialize very well and his only true friend is an imaginary one he calls "Charlie Nubbins" who guzzles beer and quotes Bible scripture. Mostly, Joe is lonely and spends a lot of his time writing poems about his brutal life as a cabbie, and his family’s dark mysterious past.
